NOTE: This is a DUPLICATE POST of SUPER SUNDAY from my main blog Amazing Grace~Mazes,Messes, Miracles

My mission for this week is to uphold in prayer Compassion & this group of bloggers!(see below)

On November 2nd, 2008 a special group of chosen bloggers listed below left for

November 2–7, 2008 Compassion International took a group of bloggers to see their ministry to over 40,000 children in the Dominican Republic. Known for its resort-speckled beaches, there’s another side to this Caribbean nation unknown to most vacationers. Our bloggers will visit a city dump where families scavenge for food and clothing. They’ll tour a neighborhood where drugs are trafficked and children live beside open sewers. [sounds very similar to life here and what the Vineyard Church does as I've mentioned here before...but the children are no longer allowed at the dumpsite]

The bloggers will also see firsthand how Compassion International and child sponsors are bringing hope to children living in these places by releasing them from poverty in Jesus’ name.

Will you prayerfully consider how you might be able to help?

Compassion International has taken the following small group of bloggers to the
Dominican Republic to see its ministry to children firsthand and blog about the experience daily.
387 bloggers generously offered to be part of the trip - but only a few could be chosen. Compassion International is excited to introduce you to them now. They are...

Melanie from

Mary from

Tim (and his son) from

Marlboro Man (and his two daughters) from

Jennifer from

Brian Seay and Shaun Groves will co-lead the trip on behalf of Compassion International.

[You can click on their blog and be linked to read their stories personally.]

This team needs your help now. Please pray for each of these bloggers, their readers, and the trip's safety and effectiveness.

Pray for these bloggers daily. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of praying for their spiritual and physical health, their family back home, and that God would give them the words and creativity to express what they experience this week.

Pray for blog readers. Pray that God will speak to each one of them. Pray that gratitude and generosity is fueled by this trip. Pray that many become child sponsors.

Take the time to visit these bloggers and learn about the Dominican Republic through their eyes and the eyes of the children.

"At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying,

“Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”

And calling to Him a child, He put him in the midst of them and said,

“Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.

“See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven. What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go in search of the one that went astray? And if he finds it, truly, I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine that never went astray. So it is not the will of my Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish."

Matthew 18:1-6, 10-14

I am joining you in prayers, Peggy. Thanks for sharing with us. It is encouraging to read of these bloggers love for the Lord and their compassion for the needy, and how child sponsors are bringing hope to children living in these places by releasing them from poverty in Jesus' name. May God's truth and saving faith sets them free and He provides for His own people in His wonderful ways.

Thanks for all your prayers and encouragements. May God continue to use you mightily through your blog and posts. May He grant you a very blessed week. Take care!
