This tribute of a sister in the song "The ART of BEING KIND" (for Laurie Neira) was so difficult to find to post but was available if you go to and it makes it available for you to hear on Real Audio (but I was not sure everyone has this available).

The following link had a code for myspace so I tried it here but in case it doesn't load or work, please go here or the above link for this beautiful song, which I believe will bless you deeply.

Kristina Olsen - The Art Of Being Kind (for Laurie)
Found at The Art Of Being Kind (for Laurie) on

KRISTINA OLSEN is a nurse/ singer-songwriter who shares music as a prayer for healing in our world. Having lost her sister Laurie Neira on September 11th aboard American Airlines Flight 11, Kristina has committed herself to promoting peace through understanding, compassion and loving-kindness, as a way to best honor her sister's memory.

Having recently returned from Afghanistan as part of an 18 member Interfaith Peace Delegation, through the San Francisco based humanitarian organization Global Exchange, Kristina shares her experiences of Afghanistan, through song and the spoken word, highlighting the healing connections she has made with Afghan families who have lost loved-ones as a result of the U.S. bombing campaign.

Kristina is a member of September Eleventh
Families for Peaceful Tomorrows, an advocacy organization founded by families who lost loved-ones at the World Trade Center, The Pentagon and United Flight 93. It's mission is to seek effective non-violent responses to terrorism and to identify a commonality with all people similarly affected by violence throughtout the world."

Kristina may be contacted at for appearances, interviews or to obtain a copy of her "Home to Love" CD.

After viewing so many wonderful videos for 9/11 and songs, I saw this video with Shelby Shares that lead me to search for "who is Laura Neira?" And I discovered the heart of this beautiful sister, Kristina Olsen... and was moved by this SONG! I only wish I could hear the entire CD here in MX.

Kristina's voice is like an angel. Yes Kristina...your words "Understanding is the key...One world, one seed, a little love from time to time...Understanding is the seed"

The words of Kristin that spoke to my heart after the above words were:

O LORD, Plant this seed in each of us. Kindness & love to others, those in need all over Your world. Move us to touch others with the act of being kind. Forgive us LORD, for not being Jesus & shining Your Light and sharing Your love. May words like this song inspire us as Your WORD goes deep & then bursts forth in fruit and grows. May we better understand ALL You desire for us & others. May we show kindness today in Jesus precious Name...(if we can't BE Jesus, we shouldn't preach it.)

This is why & how joining

gives me new songs & the joy of sharing with others music

"I led them with cords of human kindness, with ties of love; I lifted the yoke from their neck and bent down to feed them." Hosea 11:4

"For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love.

For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ."
2 Peter 1:5-9

In this culture of self-absorption, the art of kindness seems to be lost, so much so, that when we see an act of kindness, it is surprising...may we consciously try to be kind every day as we ask God to help us see others through His eyes...thanks for sharing this, Peggy--yes it is an angelic voice, isn't it?
Do you remember Glen Campbell, "Try a Little Kindness?"

Such a beautiful song and words with such a sweet voice. I watched the video you linked to for 9/11 and I loved how the words were written from a Christian's perspective. So many may have been saved in those last moments. I'm so thankful for God's grace even at the end of their lives. Thank you for sharing and for all the links Peggy.
