PRAY FOR LEAST REACHED PEOPLE

GLOBAL DAY OF PRAYER NEWSLETTER

PRAYING FOR THE LEAST-REACHED PEOPLE GROUPS

“Look at the nations and watch – and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told.”  --Habakkuk 1:5

What is the problem?
2,000 years ago Jesus commanded His disciples, “Go make disciples of all ‘nations’.”
More than 6,800 of the 16,000 “ethnê” or ethnic groups living today, to which He referred, lack a community of believers with adequate numbers and resources to successfully fulfil His command. Simply stated, 1 in 4 people remain without reasonable access to the gospel—The Forgotten One Fourth World! This simply means that, although there may be a few believers or even a few churches, they are a people group among which there is no indigenous community of believing Christians with adequate numbers and resources to evangelize their own people group.

Where are they?
These groups are found around the world, not only in the so-called 10/40 Window nations.
Go to this link http://www.joshuaproject.net/ethne.php?es=6 to find the least-reached people groups in each nation.

Why are they still least-reached?

·        GEOGRAPHIC BARRIERS: remote, harsh climate, difficult access, or nomadic.
·        LINGUISTIC BARRIERS:  illiterate, no scripture in their language, unwritten language, terminology confusion.
·        POLITICAL BARRIERS: restricted access, evangelism forbidden, hostile environment (war?).
·        CULTURAL BARRIERS: persecution, closed to change, Christianity viewed as a “foreign” religion.
·        UNRECOGNIZED: believers unaware of the need or the group, small in size, prejudice, isolated from the society in which they live.

SO, WHAT CAN YOU DO TO CHANGE THIS?
Jesus told His disciples in Luke 10:1-3, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”   Jesus’ solution to the dilemma of the plentiful harvest with few workers was prayer.
In her book, Intercession, Thrilling and Fulfilling, Joy Dawson echoed this call to prayer, “God’s priority plan to reach the un-evangelized is the mobilization of His people in united prayer. We are to pray with clean hearts, according to His will and His ways from His Word, in faith, energized by the Holy Spirit.”

Prayer changes things! Prayer…
  • Ushers us into God’s presence which changes us.
  • Reveals God’s plans so we can cooperate with them.
  • Obeys Jesus’ command to ask the Lord of the Harvest to send workers.
  • Invites God’s presence and participation in the process.
  • Removes hindrances to the gospel and prepares the hearts of unbelievers to hear and respond.
  • Releases resources for the task.
  • Insures protection for the workers and the work.
  • Releases spiritual power to fulfil the call, and,
  • Exercises divine authority to change situations and people.
  • Prayer IS the battle, and prayer maintains the victory.

How can we pray effectively?
Begin with these five simple prayers based on scripture:
  1. SEE: Pray that believers will see the hearts among every least-reached people group that are ready to hear and respond to the Gospel (John 4:35).
  2. SEND: Pray that the Lord of the Harvest will send labourers among these “no-choice” peoples (Luke 10:2).
  3. UNITY: Pray that the Lord will help the Body of Christ to labour together in the unity of the Spirit to bring good news where it’s never been heard before (1 Cor. 3:9).
  4. SUPPLY: Pray that God will supply and multiply the resources necessary to support His workers and their work (2 Cor. 9:8-11).
  5. SUCCESS: Pray for 100-fold fruit that remains for God’s glory and transforms each group by its presence (Matt. 4:20).

Nancie was a participant in the very beginning, but unable to currently blog actively. Yet she still has much good material to read in her previous posts along her sidebar.
Choose one or all or any & be blessed!
Mission 4 Monday sadly ended last year as a meme, but I continue to share here and I know others also share various MISSIONS, especially the people above. Check them out!!! Encourage and perhaps join us.
Since my life is a MISSION, I share whenever I can. There are many of you, who do community involvement/church events, volunteer opportunities or know missionaries that you could share to motivate others. Motherhood and Homeschooling are MISSIONS and callings!!!
Each of these are MISSIONS and important to encourage others.
If you are doing something or share someone's MISSION on your blog, please leave your info in the comments anytime! Hopefully others will notice & come visit. THANKS!
New blogger that shares MISSIONS at times:
Here's a current post she shared.

NO LONGER A MEME!

Blessings to ALL Readers & Participants!

It is with a heavy heart that I will no longer be hosting "memes"!

So Mission 4 Monday will still exist as my blog ONLY and I will NO longer be doing this as a "meme" for others to JOIN me and share!

I truly believe that each one that has participated shared GREAT MISSIONS!

MORE BELOW in my post "NO LONGER A MEME"

Thank you ALL for participating when you were able & sharing your mission & heart with us!

I still believe that each one of us "were made for a mission" and an opportunity crosses our path each week to serve others as a MISSION. Open your eyes & see the needs around us!

I still believe in the great value & worth of sharing MISSIONS!

I still believe that you do not have to be a missionary "sent out in the world" to be a missionary. Your home, your neighborhood, your community is filled with needs to be met with the passion & compassion of Jesus Christ. One day a week or month, take the time. It may be the first "short term" mission that God moves in you & touches others with His love.

I still believe "all" that Rick Warren shared in "The Purpose Driven Life" especially Purpose #5!
WE WERE MADE FOR A MISSION!

I still believe that I will continue to share MISSIONS put on my heart right here.

"God has given you a Life Message to share..."

and I know that HE gave me a LIFE MESSAGE and
I hope to share that through what I post here. I will continue to update on ministries as I have and those in my sidebar.

THANKS MISSION4MONDAY PARTICIPANTS & READERS! Click here to see who participated in MISSION 4 MONDAY!

PRAISE the LORD for REPENTANCE in HAITI! Keep praying; get ready to repent in USA & WORLDWIDE

My dear friend Cathy sent me an email about this. This one is provided by SERMON INDEX of the LOVING HANDS Ministry in Haiti.

Tears of the Saints

I had "Tears of the Saints" from Acts1v8 on Vimeo.

'You are the light of the world' –– Jesus talking to His disciples.

Are we being the 'salt and light' that we are called to be?

I needed to remove the Vimeo because it says for PRIVATE USE! It's still worth seeing and all of the others available through Mission Mobilizer. It looks like "Tears of the Saints" is no longer available.
So I have replaced it with this song by Leeland & YouTube by lkittycat
IN THE PAST HOUR:
1625 children were forced to live on the streets 1667 children died from malnutrition or disease 115 children became prostitutes 257 children were orphaned because of HIV/Aids. It gets worse... 2 billion people in the world today have never ever heard of Jesus. 1% of missions financial support, goes to reaching those unreached people. 30,000 people starve to death every day.
