SONGS IN SPANISH

Hillsong
"Dios Sobre Todo"

Todo pasa, mas tú no pasarás. All passes, but you will never pass
En gracia Tú siempre reinarás, In grace you will reign forever
La injusticia cargaste en la cruz. You carried injustice on the cross
Exaltado en gloria eres JesúsJesus, you are exalted in glory
Dios sobre todo Tú cerca estás, God over all, you are near
Toda rodilla se postrará… Every knee will bow down…
El ciego ve, el sordo oirá, los muertos se levantarán y tú mi Dios por siempre reinarás…
The blind see, the deaf will hear, the dead will rise, and You
my God will reign forever.

And
a little medley
for
Christmas

Medley Navideno

The first song has many words in the FUTURE tense! So clearly the lesson that would go with this is on the Future tense... which is not taught in Study Spanish until almost the end (Lesson 99) but Future tense is really very easy after you learn the endings and which verbs are irregular, you are set. English is just as easy, you just put the helping verb [will] before the main verb.
Regular verbs in the future tense are conjugated by adding the following endings to the infinitive form of the verb: -é, -ás, -á, -emos, -éis, -án.
hablaré
hablarás
hablará
hablaremos
hablaréis
hablarán

There are twelve common verbs that are irregular in the future tense. Their endings are regular, but their stems change. Since the endings are the same as all other future tense verbs, we show only the "yo" form, and have underlined the irregular stem. We have also grouped them according to their patterns of change.
caber
yo cabré
poner
yo pondré
decir
yo diré
haber
yo habré
salir
yo saldré
hacer
yo haré
poder
yo podré
tener
yo tendré
querer
yo querré
valer
yo valdré
saber
yo sabré
venir
yo vendré

Note that compound verbs based on the irregular verbs inherit the same irregularities. Here are a few examples:
desquerer
yo desquerré
resaber
yo resabré
anteponer
yo antepondré
mantener
yo mantendré
prevaler
yo prevaldré

¡FELIZ NAVIDAD!

SONGS in SPANISH (but no lessons)

On this day 12-21-12, I just want to immerse myself in God and I found these songs, a new You Tube channel and find that Jesus speaks so beautifully through these artists and their music. As I enjoy this new place and their playlist, I may keep adding songs from them to SOAK in this day and reflect on how wonderful it is to know God and rest as I sing and listen for His song!

[This one is in English with the words in Spanish!]

"Have Your Way"

This one is in
BOTH

"I Will Rest in You"

SELAH
sings in English

"I Look to You"
but Spanish subtitles are included

In lieu, of last Friday's tragic event and indelible impression on our hearts, our minds and impact on so many ... (Wendy Blight has shared an awesome prayer that we all can stand with and add our own hearts as one with her for them) this song was shared in her comments by Marie, which led me to this Channel of songs!

as we all do

But tomorrow I have another "SONG IN SPANISH" post for our Saturdays with a Spanish lesson!

ADVIENTO ~ "Centrando Nuestro Corazon en JESUS!"

Today, Advent (Adviento) officially begins ... however ...

Last week, GMG (Good Morning Girls) started Advent early with their beautiful study of "Keeping Our Hearts Focused on Jesus" but the important part of this for  my MISSIONS blog is that it is also available in Spanish with a group that is translating, discussing and doing this on Facebook(FB). Although I do not do FB, I am trying to catch what they share and follow 2 Bloggers that are leaders, Edurne and Trisha. They do such an excellent job and share these all on FB as well as doing SOAP for the readings (so I hope it's OK for me to share them here too)! It helps me by making it easier to read plus YOU get to learn more SPANISH! However, you really need to click on their links and follow along.

The first week of Advent is HOPE! ESPERANZA

[source: GMG Spanish FB]

[source: GMG Spanish FB]

This second week (for GMG) is LOVE! Amor

Example of their great work on the Translation of the GMG devotional for LOVE (so we can read it in Spanish too):

{Semana 2}- Amor Devocional

Mirando a Jesús,

Here are the readings for Week Two: Love (El Amor)

If you can't figure them out, go to GMG and read in English (you can subscribe to them and get the downloads) and join them (and me) in "Keeping Our Hearts Focused on Jesus"! And if you do FB, you can follow there also in English and in Spanish!

Great way to improve or learn more Spanish too!

So I did not share a SPANISH lesson and Song on Sat. but this is much better.

SONGS IN SPANISH (no lesson)

I'm still pausing on doing lessons and songs in Spanish but I came across this medley by an artist I have not yet shared here so I wanted to at least share the video and a playlist I started to create with (43)songs by her. The beginning song is one of my favorite songs in English that just rises up in my spirit at times so I wanted it in Spanish too!

SONGS IN SPANISH (PAUSE)

As you may have noticed, I did not post a Spanish Song and series of Lessons yesterday. If you know or read my regular blog; aMazing Grace ... Mazes, Messes, Miracles,
you may have a better idea of why. I have been following along with the stats here as able and it does not appear that anyone is reading these. I'm sure that many of us, are BUSY with the upcoming months of Thanks Giving, Hannukah, Advent and Christmas. Just final touches for this year of 2012. So for now, SIS (Songs in Spanish) will be on PAUSE!!! EnJOY your holiday season and remember to keep Jesus first!

You can continue with all the songs that I gave in 31 Days, especially the Sundays, when I shared multiple songs on full CDs and concerts, really more than enough.
Just with the series by Maranatha Singers "Quiero Alabarte" and their 7 volumes, there are many songs and beautiful voices that clearly pronounce the words of many songs that you are probable familiar with in English. If I knew all of these in Spanish as I do in English, I know that they would bless me and others here in Mexico. So I'm working on learning them also.

The 104 LESSONS at STUDY SPANISH (Beginning) are also excellent and explained very well. The Grammar Section is not the only one as I mentioned before here.
I highly recommend this program, as if I had written it myself. "Camino de Exito" is the program that they sell but the link to the beginner level is free. By the way, that title means "Way to Success", and I believe that Jesus is the way, ... (John 14:6) one of the first Bible verses I memorized. This also is a good way to train, to memorize key verses in Spanish!

I think I have some playlists for CHRISTmas songs even in Spanish over at my You Tube Channel so I will be featuring them on my Featured Playlists (or come back here and I may link some here as well)! update: I only found one in Spanish and linked it to Spanish but as the season comes, I'll probably add more.

¡FELIZ NAVIDAD
Y
PROSPERO
AÑO NUEVO!

Feliz Día de GRACIAS!

You know what I find so beautiful in Spanish,
God is in the language in so many ways.

For example,
look at the word
"gracias"
easy and well known word
but
the first part of that word
is
"gracia"
which means
GRACE

You see our thanks is based on
HIS GRACE
that
is undeserved, unmerited
but given to us
freely
just
by
receiving
and
accepting
A grateful heart
can do
so much

keep
saying
"GRACIAS"
and
be
grateful
in all
things
not
necessarily
for all things

Gracias by Marcos Witt

God's Grace is so aMazing!
so many ways
to show
your
thankfulness
during this
season
Pour out
God's
Grace
and
Gracias
(which would also be the plural of "gracia")
Can grace be graces?

So when you tell someone "gracias", you are extending God's grace to them! Isn't that what HE would want?

SONGS IN SPANISH ~ 2

Back on Day 27 of my 31 Days, I shared the following song and many others by Kari Jobe from her latest CD "Where I Find You"/ "Donde Te Encuentro"

Since I am sharing it in English over at my main blog, aMazing Grace ...
I thought I'd center on that song again over here for our continuation of learning Spanish, because I did not teach anything when I shared it back in "31 Days..." just shared the lyrics in both languages and it's a good song.

If you are doing the lessons at Study Spanish, this past week, I had linked Unit I; Lessons 1-7 ending with Subject Pronouns. I should continue with lessons 8-14 but I'm skipping those and jumping ahead to Unit II. because of the song I've chosen by Kari Jobe. However, if you don't know anything yet about Verbs in Spanish, I'd recommend that you continue on with at least Lesson 8 (or 8, 9 and 10 covering Regular Verbs) first.

The lessons for this week, if you'd like to do one a day should be (the above recommendation of 8, 9,and 10):

8. Reg. Verbs I
9. Reg. Verbs II
10. Reg. Verbs III

Followed with these as your main focus from Unit II:
    15. Ser and Estar I
  1. 16. Ser and Estar II
  2. 17. Ser and Estar III
  3. 18. Ser and Estar IV
Because Kari's song is "AQUI ESTA" (with accent on the "i"and the last "a", I don't have the Spanish Keyboard on, nor am I very good at doing it with Capital letters).

"Está" comes from "Estar" and it is the 3rd person singular form of "to be"

Aquí [pronounced like "a key"] means "Here" which is the complete title in English.

I have chosen to share the one with the lyrics in it HERE

AQUI

//Ven, descansa,
ya no cargues más dolor
Ven, descansa,
y refúgiate en Su amor
Encontrarás ya,
No más soledad
Sólo paz,
cerca está
Encontrarás
que tu corazón roto
Él sanó
Aquí está

*Respira
Exhala
Tú lo encontrarás
Aquí//

////Descansaré en Tí////

then returns to above * and repeats
***
Respira looks much like the English words
"respiration or respiratory"
so that is what it means
"BREATHE"
from
respirar (to breathe)
and it is in a command form telling YOU to breathe
Commands are not taught until Unit 8,
although they are not that difficult to learn
and are used frequently in songs.
The following word in the song is a command also
that looks like a word in English
so I'm sure you can guess what it means
Exhala
[remember not to pronounce the "h" is all]
from the verb
exhalar
to exhale
Tú lo encontrarás
You(familiar)=
Him = lo
you will find/meet = encontrarás
[future tense from "encontrar"]
AQUI
HERE
[location]
***
"Aquí está" He is here
is the focus of this lesson
ESTAR = to be 3rd person form is "is"
it can be
He is
She is
it is
or
you (formal) are
if you use a name for
"he" like "Jesus"
Jesús está
Jesus is
or for
"she"
Mary
María está
or a place
establo for stable
el establo está
the stable is
el burro for donkey
el burro está
the donkey is
el burro está en el establo
the donkey is in the stable

estar
when "to be" is used for
health (state)
location (geographic or physical)
temporary condition
and also in
and
progressive tenses
(*construction as used below in the Bible verse)
so
ser
is used for all the rest
of "to be"s
like
descriptions
and
what is listed in
Mateo 11:28
"Venid á mí todos los que estáis trabajados y cargados, que yo os haré descansar."
Matthew 11:28

SONGS IN SPANISH ~ 1

In October, I did 31 Days (see page above) to share Christian songs in Spanish to help you as you learn Spanish as I taught some lessons along the way. The lessons were not great nor in order but went along with the song to help.

Somewhere along the way, I think I mentioned continuing with this on Saturdays. At the moment, I am not able to organize teaching Spanish along with a song but I hope to be able to do that soon. In the meantime, I would like to just share SONGS from that series that I shared the first Sunday, "Quiero Alabarte" with volumes of praise and worship songs from Maranatha that we are familiar with like this one:

BUSCA EL REINO
This is the secong song on Vol. 1
Letra y acordes

"Pero busquen primero Su reino y Su justicia,
y todas estas cosas les serán añadidas."
Mateo 6:33

Mateo 6:33 VERSADAY has a beautiful devotional and gallery in English and Spanish daily.

QUIERO means "I want" from the verb "querer" (this is what you would find in a dictionary, not "quiero") pronounced KEY-AIR-O.

BUSCA is in command form from "buscar" (verb) which means to look or search for, to seek so the word "search" (noun) would be busqueda - la busqueda(feminine noun)
because it ends in "a". "the" also needs to agree with it in gender and number (singular or plural). Commands are a bit more complicated and a later lesson.

In Spanish when you conjugate (change) from the infinitive form (that verb form that you find in the dictionary) to include or align with the subject speaking, which then includes the tense and person. Tense (is time; Present, future, past, etc.) and person (1st,2nd, 3rd singular and plural; I, you, he she it - we, you all, they... singular:yo, tu usted, el ella - plural:nosotros, nosotras, vosotros, vosotras, ustedes, ellos, ellas.

See these LESSONS at Study Spanish. Unit I. first 7 (one for each day this upcoming week, until I share another song. Here's where you start and since this site has done this so well, I highly recommend following through their grammar lessons or any other part: vocabulary, pronunciation, verb drills

Unit One
  1. Gender of Nouns I
  2. Gender of Nouns II
  3. Numbers: 1-10
  4. Plural Forms of Nouns
  5. Def. & Indef. Articles
  6. The Verb Form "hay"
  7. Subject Pronouns
Also under VERB DRILLS- present tense -ar verbs BUSCAR
irregular verb e to ie stem changing QUERER

They have exercises and tests to help you but very clear diagrams and explanations. The best I've seen.

31 DAYS of ... "A Dios Sea La Gloria"

Canciones cristianas
en el español
Christian songs in Spanish

DAY 31
"A Dios Sea La Gloria"
To God Be the Glory

Como agradeceré
Todas las cosas

Que has hecho por mí

Cosas inmerecidas

Que diste para mostrar Tu amor por mí

Las voces de un million de ángeles
No expresáran mi gratitud
Lo que soy y lo que anhelo ser
Lo debo todo a Ti

A Dios sea la gloria
A Dios sea la gloria
A Dios sea la gloria
Por lo que hizo por mí
Con Su sangre me ha limpiado
Su poder me ha salvado
A Dios sea la gloria
Por lo que hizo por mí

Quiero vivir Señor

Rendida siempre sólo a Ti
Pongo a tus pies

Lo que soy

Porque diste todo Señor por mí
Con Su sangre me ha limpiado
Su poder me ha salvado
A Dios sea la gloria
Por lo que hizo por mí

Sea la gloria y la honra

Y el poder por siempre

Here's a link to my favorite little Spanish Booklet (Conversational Spanish for Short term missionaries) and another link to a PDF I found recently on songs from SOAR Ministries. I have other resources also and if you ever need help or I can answer or find the answer for any question, you may have ... just leave me a comment (and you can be sure I'll respond). Trust me Spanish is much easier to learn than English (and teach). The sounds are rhythmical and that's why I could not resist teaching 31 Days through Music ... So don't get discouraged! just practice, practice, practice (don't be embarrassed to try) and enjoy. Maybe I did not teach you sequentially or all I could have in 31 days but if you go to the site I linked to often, I know you can learn. The songs and the lessons just came to me each day ... perhaps it was not the best way for you, but I know God was speaking to me or better yet singing His song over me every day ... and I was blessed to share.

To God be the glory!

The Lord your God is with you,

    te renovará con su amor,
se alegrará por ti con cantos ~Sofonías 3:17

Sorry that I crammed so much into these last few days of the 31 Days. Maybe I need to do this regularly on Saturdays each week as a Spanish Song feature ... I'll take it up with God and check back on future Saturdays. (update I won't be able to do this for awhile however due to a tragedy back home in MN But with all the links I've given you, I know that they can keep you busy. I'd start with the Study Spanish site and check out other You Tube singers that you liked, because I'm sure that singing helps with the flow and the sounds.

Just have fun, enjoy and don't be embarrassed to try speaking or singing along, remember the more you use a language, the easier it becomes, because if you don't use it, you loose it! Muchas bendiciones, Peggy or Margarita (but I never use that one here nor in English) (although it's the word for a flower, it's also a drink, so I stay clear from that)

And if you have a moment, please visit a few of the 1000 participating in this 31 day series, hosted by The Nester.
Hope that you enjoyed
