"Scott and I pictured an orphaned child lying in bed and looking out their window as we wrote this song. We wanted to convey a sense of hope amidst helplessness. As the child's imagination soars across the rooftops and up to the moon, she prays to God to lift her out of her loneliness. We tried to crawl inside a child's skin and write to God in youthful images and words. Perhaps it is a child's innocence and helplessness that leaves us so burdened for the fatherless and motherless. Perhaps it is living in our own skin that helps us identify! At times, I find that all of us know shades of the orphan's experience, even when we are nestled within the best churches and families. Everyone can identify with an orphan's loneliness and fears of the future.
The song, Orphan's Lullaby, is a cry of the heart during times of such desperation. It is written for the seasons when we must reach for the hope and confidence of our adoption. As believers we dream of a way to cross a bridge to a new life in Christ and we cling to a Savior that collects our tears in a bottle (Psalm 56:8).
So it is fitting that the promise for the orphan is my hope as well:
Romans 8:15(NIV) says, "..we did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry "Abba, Father"."
I visited your blog today and want to say thank you for what you are doing to make people aware of the hope that so many need. May God bless your work on Missions. I can't find another way to contact you, so I' adding this as a comment. I hope that's OK.
I am currently looking for people who would be interested in hosting information on my new book, Don't Forget to Pack the Kids: Short-Term Missions for Your Whole Family. I have seen the impact hands-on mission has on kids, who then grow into people with hearts for mission and compassion. It's my goal and passion to make families aware that they can serve together and not wait until the “time is right.” I also strongly feel that the youth who are leaving the church in droves can find relevance that will keep them walking with God if they are empowered to serve.
There are several options to fit what works for your blog. I can send an interview with the author, a short description of the book, an excerpt, and/or a free book to give away.
I love to see others working in this area and letting God use them to bring attention to what we can do together with the rest of the world. I hope we can work together.
God's blessings, Jill Richardson

Mission 4 Monday sadly ended last year as a meme, but I continue to share here and I know others also share various MISSIONS, especially the people above. Check them out!!! Encourage and perhaps join us.
Since my life is a MISSION, I share whenever I can. There are many of you, who do community involvement/church events, volunteer opportunities or know missionaries that you could share to motivate others. Motherhood and Homeschooling are MISSIONS and callings!!!
Each of these are MISSIONS and important to encourage others.
If you are doing something or share someone's MISSION on your blog, please leave your info in the comments anytime! Hopefully others will notice & come visit. THANKS!
Thank you ALL for participating when you were able & sharing your mission & heart with us!
I still believe that each one of us "were made for a mission" and an opportunity crosses our path each week to serve others as a MISSION. Open your eyes & see the needs around us!
I still believein the great value & worth of sharing MISSIONS!
I still believe that you do not have to be a missionary "sent out in the world" to be a missionary. Your home, your neighborhood, your community is filled with needs to be met with the passion & compassion of Jesus Christ. One day a week or month, take the time. It may be the first "short term" mission that God moves in you & touches others with His love.
I still believe"all" that Rick Warren shared in "The Purpose Driven Life" especially Purpose #5! WE WERE MADE FOR A MISSION!
I still believethat I will continue to share MISSIONS put on my heart right here.
"God has given you a Life Message to share..."
and I know that HE gave me a LIFE MESSAGE and I hope to share that through what I post here. I will continue to update on ministries as I have and those in my sidebar.
PRAISE the LORD for REPENTANCE in HAITI! Keep praying; get ready to repent in USA & WORLDWIDE
My dear friend Cathy sent me an email about this. This one is provided by SERMON INDEX of the LOVING HANDS Ministry in Haiti.
Tears of the Saints
I had "Tears of the Saints" from Acts1v8 on Vimeo.
You are the light of the world' –– Jesus talking to His disciples.
Are we being the 'salt and light' that we are called to be?
I needed to remove the Vimeo because it says for PRIVATE USE! It's still worth seeing and all of the others available through Mission Mobilizer. It looks like "Tears of the Saints" is no longer available.
So I have replaced it with this song by Leeland & YouTube by lkittycat
IN THE PAST HOUR:
1625 children were forced to live on the streets
1667 children died from malnutrition or disease
115children became prostitutes257 children were orphaned because of HIV/Aids.
It gets worse...
2 billion people in the world today have never ever heard of Jesus. 1% of missions financial support, goes to reaching those unreached people. 30,000 people starve to death every day.
Born in St. Paul, MN. My home is in Stillwater, MN but now most of the time I have been called to live in Mexico with my family of 4 dogs.
My REAL passion is JESUS Christ! I love the Mexican people, culture and Spanish language. I am living my Purpose Driven Life and have a vision of seeing God's children freed from injustices, poverty, hopelessness, and saved by the aMazing Grace of God!
