Day 9
Tú Eres ...
You are ...

This is an easy one to learn
[song written without accents]
Tu eres mi respirar
Tu eres mi respirar
Dios Tu presencia
vive en mi

Tu eres mi pan Señor
Tu eres mi pan Señor
Dios Tus palabras son para mi

y yooooo
Te ahnelo Señor
perdido sin Ti

Tu eres mi respirar
Tu eres mi respirar
Dios Tu presencia
vive en mi

Tu eres mi pan Señor
Tu eres mi pan Señor
Tus palabras son para mi

y yooooo
Te ahnelo Señor

perdido sin Ti

y yooooo
Te ahnelo Señor
perdido sin Ti
perdido sin Ti
perdido sin Ti
perdido sin Ti
Te ahnelo Señor.

This is a favorite song of mine.
Esta cancion es una de mis favoritas.
without an accent means

with an accent means

Tus palabras
Your Words
has the
to agree with
If it was
it would be
Tu palabra

In this song we have both forms of 'to be' - Spanish has estar and ser (remember?). Here are the Present tense for each: I am, you are, he, she, it is; we are, you all are, they are (English)
In Spanish:
estar (infinitive)= to be
estoy                                estamos

estás                                estáis

está                                 están
ser (infinitive) = to be
soy                                    somos

eres                                   sóis

es                                      son

'He' can be a name like 'John' and 'she' can be 'Mary' and 'they' can be 'the students'; 'the dogs';etc. and 'it' can be 'the church', 'the song', 'the word', etc.

English Subject Promouns:
Singular                              Plural
I, you, he, she (it)                we, you all, they
yo, tú, usted, (two forms of you) él, ella (no 'it')
nosotros, nosotras; vosotros, vosotras; ustedes, ellos, ellas
(Spanish has male and female 'we' and 'they')

Estar is used in construction like 'I am lost' (in this song)

estar (conjugated-changed) + past participle (or present participle)

Past participle is perdido from perder which means to lose
so the past of lose is lost...

In Spanish -ar endings of verb infinitives like amar (to love) change by dropping the ending -ar and adding -ado
to make it a past participle(-d, or -ed, -en in English) and
-ando for a present participle (-ing in English)

amado (masculine)=loved
amada (feminine)

amando = loving

-er and -ir endings of verb infinitives like perder (to lose)
change to -ido (past participle) lost
or         -iendo (present participle) loosing

perdido / perdida

Ohh, so what happens when there are both
male and female together
(you're not gonna like this or maybe you will)
male dominates
so you go with the masculine form
-o or -os

feminine is
-a or -as
So can you find the
two different uses of
'to be'?

one from estar
two from ser

 para mí = for me
sin Tí = without you

Te ahnelo
I long for you!

Check out the
VERSE for the DAY
then in
(or vice a versa)

Side extra comment of explanation:
I know - this was a little too much(like some others)!
I agree but I almost just posted the song and nothing else... so "poco a poco" (little by little) --- please recall that these are not organized or planned. What you might call "spontaneous" worship! I go with a song that comes to me for the day and then this is the lesson that comes with it. I really do pray that I am led by the Spirit in the choices of the songs and then the rest is up to you and what you want to learn. It's really hard to set up a plan after you've started and committed to something. My apologies for not approaching this more consistently.

Very pretty worship, Peggy. I tried to follow along, as I took Spanish years ago. :)
