31 DAYS of PRAYERS ~ GOVERNMENTS

Continuing to join P31 Ministries with Lysa TerKeurst and A21 Campaign with Christine Caine in Day 13 of their "31 Days of Prayer" - however it is only Day 3 of the Nester's 31 Day Writing Challenge

I had previously begun with Lysa and Christine on September 23rd back here to join them in this prayer campaign. This is their button and here is Lysa's blog, pdf on the prayer plan and you can find prayers interspersed on her Facebook to continue praying along with them to END TRAFFICKING.

We started with Prayers for the Victims, then the Traffickers and today, Day 11 we start praying for the Governments:

Day 11-14 Pray for Governments
Oct.3-Oct.6
[so this post is for these 4 days]

PRAY FOR GOVERNMENTS (from the pdf)

Day 11: For corruption to cease:
Deuteronomy 16:19, Amos 5:12, Zechariah 8:16

Dear Lord, this morning we're praying for all of the governments worldwide that may be corrupt and aiding to further spread human trafficking. We pray the corruption would cease and anyone involved in trafficking at an authoritative level would feel strongly convicted to help, not hurt.

We're specifically praying Deuteronomy 16:19, Amos 5:12, and Zechariah 8:16 right now.

Father, we give this completely over to You. In Your Powerful Name we pray, Amen.

Almighty God, I specifically come before You asking that the corruption here in the country I am in cease from the very top of the government to the local enforcers of the law here in this community. The violence and the onslaught against women and children in this country is horrendous, not to mention all the other reasons.

Do not pervert justice or show partiality. Do not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the innocent.

Because of the insufficient pay received many manipulate justice by asking for a bribe. Forgive them Lord but also bring an end to this and cause a spirit of conviction to fall over them as they bribe others, whether it be other officials, the ones in crime or the ones in government and authority. I ask that You end this perversion of justice and the the many in need are finally given their due. I thank You Father, for Your power to control and end this in Jesus' name...

Day 12: For implementation of just legislation:
Proverbs 8:15, Proverbs 29:4, Nehemiah 9:13

"Father, we're praying again today for all of the governments worldwide that may be corrupt and aiding to further spread human trafficking. We pray for the implementation of just legislation in each country. We're specifically praying Proverbs 8:15, Proverbs 29:4, and Nehemiah 9:13 right now:

- Proverbs 8:15, "By me kings reign and rulers issue decrees that are just;"
- Proverbs 29:4, "By justice a king gives a country stability, but those who are greedy for bribes tear it down."
- Nehemiah 9:13, "'You came down on Mount Sinai; you spoke to them from heaven. You gave them regulations and laws that are just and right, and decrees and commands that are good.'"

Lord, we trust in You above all else. In Your Powerful Name we pray, Amen."

TODAY'S

Day 13: For discernment in forming alliances:
1 Kings 3:12, Proverbs 3:21, Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

How timely that Life Today shared on Friday, October 4th, 2013 of RESCUE Life ... a program of the horrors ... this episode shares:
True stories of sex trafficking come to light as LIFE takes hope into the darkest places.

"Dear Lord, today we're focusing again on all of the governments that may be corrupt and aiding to further spread human trafficking. We pray for discernment in the forming of alliances worldwide to put an end to this horrible injustice. We're specifically praying 1 Kings 3:12, Proverbs 3:21, and Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 right now:

- 1 Kings 3:12, "I will do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be."

- Proverbs 3:21, "My son, do not let wisdom and understanding out of your sight, preserve sound judgment and discretion;"

- Ecclesiastes 4:9-12, Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."

Father, we place our hope in You. In Your Powerful Name we pray, Amen."

Day 14:
Lord Jesus, today as I pray for the A21 Campaign [and other organizations in this fight (see my list under "Women and Children" to the right in the sidebar)], I ask for justice for the innocent and freedom for the enslaved. I pause right now and stand in the midst of safety and ask for safety to be restored to those who are in danger and being abused. Lord, bring to my mind today reminders to keep praying for those who wonder if anyone is looking to help them. Please give them hope and help through our prayers. In God’s Powerful Name we pray, Amen.

Articles to help you become better informed:

Slavery is a $32bn industry so why aren't we following the money trail? Human trafficking generates huge profits, but legislation falls short on confiscating the cash and prosecuting ringleaders

*Here's another article from here in Mexico: "From Victim to Survivor" 2013 forum in Mexico City with victims speaking directly to a group of government officials tasked with creating and enforcing law against trafficking. This one's so important for me as to whether it will really change the corruption and injustices, especially in a border town near El Paso, Texas ... Cuidad Juarez, known as the killing field of countless women.
